2024 is off and running!
As we start preparing for the 2024 growing season, here's a few updates!
For local produce, we won't be at markets until March, but you can order online and pickup every Saturday morning at the Family Bee's-nees farm in Franklinton, and also the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the afternoon at Wake Forest for the Wake Forest Local Food Collaborative. And as always, local delivery.
Due to Christina suffering a bad hand injury in December, we didn't get winter greenhouse-grown produce started (like radishes, carrots and leafy greens), so there may be limited availability of produce in the coming months until the early spring crops come in. In the meantime, you can still find some radishes, leafy greens, collards, wild greens, and microgreens for online ordering. (We are currently limiting wild greens to types that are easier for Christina to harvest with her limited hand mobility.) Cabbages and broccoli should be available in a few weeks, and we hope to have early spring edible flower seedlings available by March. Our chickens are growing up and have been laying more regularly, so expect to see eggs available as well! We will also be adding fresh-cut Camellia flowers to the online shop.
Speaking of microgreens, as we begin to use our light rack area for starting seedlings for summer crops, we will be reducing the amount of microgreens we're growing. So if you're a fan of those healthy, tiny greens, be sure to get them when they're available! We will typically still do 2-3 varieties available each week, but in reduced quantities.
We've got a lot of awesome things planned for 2024! If you haven't already, we'd love your support by inviting your friends to like our Facebook and Instagram pages! We will also be adding to new videos to our YouTube channel.
Stay spicy!
Christina
