Refund policy

"Why is your shipping so garsh darn expensive?!" Well, quite simply, that's how much it costs to ship the order. In a world of "free shipping" and "two day arrival" etc., we've been spoiled with the appearance of low-cost or free shipping. The truth is, large companies either raise the price of the items to account for shipping, or are large enough to absorb the shipping fees, in order to gain the business of people looking for bargains. We are not a large company like Amazon. We are a small farm, and we collaborate with other small farms to bring you the best quality produce and pantry items. OUr profit margins are not high enough to absorb the cost of shipping. While we could potentially increase item prices to have shipping appear 'free', it would be a disservice to the local customers that pick up or get delivery locally, to make them to pay a 'hidden cost' of shipping on items that they never needed shipped. Our pricing is transparent - you see the price of the item, and the price of the shipping. And any shipping discounts we get through B2B agreements, we pass along to you. We thank you for supporting our products and for your understanding. 

LOCAL PICKUP: Orders not picked up during the pickup window will be refunded minus a $5 restocking/travel fee. 

 

PLANTS: Upon receipt, please inspect your plants. If you notice a problem with the product when you receive your order, please contact us immediately. (We cannot issue refunds on plants months after they are received.) We will work to rectify the issue. Please be aware that we grow without harsh pesticides, which may mean that sometimes a garden pest may take a nibble out of a leaf. Minor leaf damage will not affect the overall growth and performance of the plant, but there should not be pests present on your plant (like aphids) when you receive it.  Please visit our "growing tips" section on the website to ensure success of your plants. Growing your own plants always carries a bit of risk, but that's what makes it so rewarding when you succeed!

FRESH PEPPERS AND PRODUCE: Peppers delivered locally will mostly be at ripe stage ready to use. Peppers that are shipped are typically picked and packed slightly under-ripe so that they are ripe when they arrive to you. Some peppers may still be ripening; if you feel they are not yet ripe, place on a sunny windowsill, (or in a paper bag with a banana if you would like to speed up the ripening process). We grow without harsh pesticides, and while we inspect every pepper before it is sent to a customer, there is the possibility something may be hiding in a fruit. We make every effort to pick peppers at the correct stage of ripeness for fresh arrival through shipping, but some may ripen a little too quickly. For these reasons, we typically include an extra pepper or two to make up for any unforeseen issues, and will not issue a refund if one or two peppers are affected. If there are issues with the majority of the peppers, please let us know. We will work to rectify the issue. If your shipped peppers were damaged by USPS, please let us know immediately and please send us a picture of the damaged package. The picture will help us to make a claim with USPS.

SWAG: Please let us know about damaged or incorrect items immediately. Generally, we cannot make refunds outside of damaged/incorrect items, but if you are unhappy with your apparel or swag purchase, please let us know, and we will work with our printing partner, Printiful, to find a solution. Printful does not offer returns or exchanges for sizing issues, so please follow size guides carefully. 

ITEMS PURCHASED IN PERSON: we do not offer refunds for any item purchased in person (such as at a farmer's market) at this time.
